Timeout Taumua
During his challenging high school years, Timeout Taumua held on to one enduring dream — to become a published author. Life tested him early, and he eventually found himself in a difficult place that he could not escape for more than two decades. Yet, in retrospect, those struggles became the foundation that prepared him for the realization of his lifelong ambition.
As he reflected on humanity’s indifference and the growing threats to civilization and family safety, Timeout began searching for ways to inspire change and strengthen faith. His approach was unique: to move beyond belief based solely on faith and instead present ten pieces of scientific evidence demonstrating the existence of God — the Creator of heaven and earth.
Shortly after making this decision, Timeout experienced what he now describes as a spiritual encounter with God — perhaps even a form of what some might call a “law-of-attraction” experience. He believes that the scientific depth he later uncovered within biblical stories — such as references that align with the discovery of the atom — was God’s direct response to his search for truth.
Although he lacks formal higher education in science or theology, Timeout views this revelation as divine guidance rather than coincidence. He is currently working on his second book, which he says will unveil the remainder of this extraordinary “download.”

Presented by PersonsOfTheYear.com, the Author of the Year Awards celebrate the writers who define our times—those whose words illuminate truth, imagination, and the human spirit. Open to authors of all backgrounds and experience levels, this global competition honors storytelling excellence across both fiction and nonfiction.
With an affordable entry fee of only $19 per category, the Awards are designed to make literary recognition accessible to all. Entrants may submit their work in multiple categories, with each category offering unique opportunities for distinction. (Please note that each category entered requires its own $19 payment.)
Every category in the Author of the Year Awards begins with the creation of a Longlist—a distinguished group of standout works selected by our panel of judges for their creativity, originality, and impact. From that longlist, Category Winners are chosen and honored for their achievement in specific areas of writing.
From among all submissions, two exceptional authors will be chosen as the 2026 Authors of the Year—one in Fiction and one in Nonfiction—representing the highest honor of the competition. In addition, two books will earn the distinguished Luminary Prize, presented to the single most outstanding work in each division—fiction and nonfiction that demonstrate extraordinary imagination, depth of craft, and the power to move and inspire readers.
These four honors—two Authors of the Year and two Luminary Prize books—stand as the pinnacle of recognition, celebrating both the craft and the creator behind it.
Our judging process is guided by integrity, fairness, and human insight. AI is not used in any part of the evaluation process. Each entry is reviewed by experienced judges representing a range of literary disciplines. Submissions are evaluated on artistry, originality, narrative strength, and emotional resonance.
Winning an Author of the Year Award or Luminary Prize provides lasting visibility and distinction. Recipients are featured prominently on PersonsOfTheYear.com, with lifetime promotion and the right to display their award medallions on book covers, websites, and marketing materials. These honors serve as powerful endorsements of quality, drawing attention from readers, publishers, and the broader literary community.
